Our History

Jarrar Group Imports is the most recent sister company of the Jarrar Group, a collection of companies focusing on products made from Jordanian olives. Our story starts during the spring of 1992 in Jordan, when the Jarrar Group’s founder, Salem Jarrar, started a small olive grove as a simple hobby. Before long, his enthusiasm and passion for cultivating and farming high-quality olives turned into a full-time business, and in just six years that small grove developed into several large farms in the fertile lands across Jordan. The year 2000 saw a period of rapid expansion when he opened up his own olive oil press in the north near Mafraq, quickly followed by a pickling processing plant only two years later in Madaba. With numerous farms and facilities around the country, the Jarrar Group was born.

Since the formation of the Jarrar Group, the company’s scale and scope actively continues to grow. The Jarrar Group’s olive oil press is one of the country’s largest producer of bulk extra-virgin olive oil, made with fresh, hand-picked locally grown olives. From the olive pickling plant’s humble origins, the Jarrar Group exports Jordanian olives in bulk quantities all across the Middle East. The plant also makes a variety of other local specialty products—pickled garlic, pickled cucumbers, shuttah (a type of hot sauce), and pickled hot & sweet peppers, to name just a few—all sourced from farmers around Jordan.

Jarrar Group Imports is our foray into North America and begins a new chapter in the company’s history. The Jarrar Group is still a proud family owned and operated business, now under the leadership of Salem Jarrar’s sons. We’re excited not just to bring our products to market here, but to be the first importers of bulk Jordanian olives and pickled products and represent our heritage in North America.
